Blocked Drains in North & West London
Slow sinks, a blocked toilet or water backing up. We clear the blockage and fix the cause, so it does not keep coming back.
Most blockages start inside the home: grease in a kitchen sink, hair in a shower trap, or wipes in a toilet. Others are in the waste pipes or the drain outside. We work out where the blockage is and clear it, then look at why it happened.
Sometimes the real problem is poorly laid pipework or a waste pipe with too little fall. Where that is the case, we can alter the pipework so the problem does not come back.

Inside or outside?
- One slow sink, bath or shower: usually a blockage in that fitting's trap or waste pipe
- Several fittings slow at once: often further down the waste pipe or in the drain
- Toilet gurgling or water rising in a shower: can point to a blocked drain outside
- Smells from a manhole or gully outside: worth checking the external drain
Shared drains in terraces and flats can be the responsibility of your water company. If the blockage is in a shared section, we will tell you who to contact.

Blocked Drains: common questions
Should I use chemical drain cleaner?
We would avoid it. Strong chemicals can damage pipes and seals, and they often do not clear the blockage. If plunging does not work, call us.
Why does my sink keep blocking?
Usually grease and food building up, or a waste pipe without enough fall. We clear it and can alter the pipework if that is the cause.
Who is responsible for a blocked drain outside?
You are usually responsible for drains that serve only your property. Drains shared with neighbours are often the water company's responsibility. We will tell you which applies.
