What to do while you wait
- Turn off the water at the stopcock
- Turn off the electricity at the consumer unit if water is near electrics and you can reach it safely
- Switch off the boiler and immersion heater
- Open cold taps to drain the pipes
- Catch the water with buckets and towels and move valuables away

How do you find a hidden leak?
We look at where the water is showing, the pipe routes, the boiler pressure and the water meter, and narrow it down step by step before opening anything up.
Will you need to lift floors or break tiles?
Sometimes, but we keep it to the smallest area possible. Where we can, we save and reuse tiles to make good afterwards.
Is my leak covered by insurance?
That depends on your policy. Many home insurance policies cover water damage and some cover finding the leak. Check with your insurer. We can provide a written description of the repair.
